I hear this question alot. WWJD? Or, what would Jesus do? Throughout my time I did a lot. However, We are each individual people, with unique genetic makeup, with a unique SOUL. The way I would handle something would be different then the way you handle something.
My children: I pray to you. Think less that of what I would do and more of what you WILL do.
God has blessed all of his children with a soul and unique mind. Please use them. I have faith in you, have faith in yourself.

so god does help those who help themself?
maybe a better request would be that we spend less time thinking and more time acting. after all, he is the way and the light, so we should definitely look to him to guide our thoughts and actions.
and to tim, i think god helps any who believingly ask for his help- although he may answer in a while other than what we have anticipated. god wants us to always turn to him though, not to be self-reliant.
